Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. General Policy
We understand that unexpected events can occur, forcing you to cancel or modify your travel plans. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as fair as possible while accounting for the non-refundable deposits we must pay to lodges, parks, and airlines on your behalf well in advance of your trip.
2. Cancellation Timelines and Fees
If you cancel your booking, the following cancellation fees will apply based on the date we receive your written cancellation notice:
- 90 days or more before departure: Full refund minus a $200 per-person administrative fee and any unrecoverable deposits (e.g., gorilla permits, flight tickets).
- 60 to 89 days before departure: 30% of the total tour cost is forfeited (loss of initial deposit).
- 30 to 59 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
- 15 to 29 days before departure: 75% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
- 14 days or less before departure (or no-show): 100% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
3. Non-Refundable Items
Certain items are strictly non-refundable regardless of the cancellation date. These include:
- Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits.
- Domestic or regional flight tickets once issued.
- Specific peak-season luxury lodge bookings (which will be communicated to you during the booking process).
4. Cancellations by JUBECK TOURS
In the highly unlikely event that we have to cancel your tour for reasons within our direct control, you will receive a 100% full refund of all payments made to us.
If the tour is canceled due to Force Majeure (events out of our control such as natural disasters, pandemics, political instability, or severe weather constraints), we will do our utmost to reschedule your trip or provide credit notes for future travel, in accordance with the policies of our partner lodges and airlines.
5. Travel Insurance
Because robust cancellation fees are necessary in the safari industry, we strongly insist that you purchase comprehensive "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) travel insurance. Proper insurance will protect your financial investment should you suffer an illness, family emergency, or flight disruption.
6. Processing Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed back to the original method of payment within 14-21 business days after the cancellation has been formally finalized by our ticketing and accommodation partners.
